Matej Bel University, a public university in the Slovak city of Banská Bystrica, which cooperates with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Mostar on conducting a joint graduate study programme in political science, celebrated 30 years since its foundation. On behalf of SUM, the vice-rector for international relations, Prof Sanja Bijakšić, PhD, attended the ceremony. Matej Bel University consists of six faculties. Their international cooperation includes 35 agreements with other universities, among which are the University of Bologna in Italy, Waseda University in Japan, Moscow State University in Russia, Sogang University in South Korea, and Indiana University in the USA.
In addition to the anniversary, the partners of the consortium of European universities Emerge held a meeting, in which SUM's vice-rector for international relations, Prof Sanja Bijakišić, PhD also participated together with Petar Smeriga, PhD, from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition to Matej Bel University and SUM, partners in the consortium include the University of Burgos from Spain, the University of Applied Sciences from Norway, and the University of Neapolis Pafos from Cyprus.
