The University of Mostar is currently in the process of intensive preparations for international accreditations, emphasizing the importance of aligning with European standards in the field of higher education, specifically external evaluation by the Agency for Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Croatia and the Austrian Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for an international joint cross-border interdisciplinary doctoral program in educational and communication sciences.

The reaccreditation process conducted by the Austrian Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (AQA) is a significant event for the University of Mostar, especially in the context of its status as a member of a consortium conducting joint doctoral studies at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in Eisenstadt. The university had previously received accreditation from the Austrian agency for the program in international economic relations and management. This week, it will undergo the process for the international joint cross-border interdisciplinary doctoral program in educational and communication sciences.

This partnership and participation in the joint doctoral program significantly enhance the international visibility of the University of Mostar. By providing students access to a wide range of resources, expertise, and networks, the University of Mostar positions itself as an institution supporting intercultural exchange and international education. This collaboration is also crucial for promoting innovative research approaches and interdisciplinary studies, which are essential in the dynamic academic world.

In addition, the inclusion of the University of Mostar in the EQAR (European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education) database is of exceptional importance. EQAR is a platform that gathers national quality assurance agencies that are members of ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education). This status confirms that the University of Mostar meets high European standards regarding the quality of education, research, management, and other key aspects of academic performance.

Being part of EQAR not only affirms the quality and compliance of the University of Mostar with European standards but also adds extra value to academic programs and degrees.

Simultaneously, the University of Mostar is diligently preparing for the upcoming reaccreditation by the Agency for Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Croatia, expected this spring. This reaccreditation process is not merely a formality; it is a crucial element in confirming and maintaining high-quality standards aligned with European trends and practices in higher education. The reaccreditation process involves a detailed and comprehensive review of all aspects of the University's operations, from academic programs, teaching staff, research capabilities, to student services and administrative processes. Through this evaluation, the Agency for Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Croatia assesses whether the University of Mostar meets specific quality criteria, including the quality of teaching, curriculum relevance, research productivity, infrastructure, as well as international collaboration and mobility.

The significance of this reaccreditation lies in allowing the University of Mostar to sustain its status and reputation as an institution providing high-quality education.

Parallel to these processes, the University of Mostar underwent institutional reaccreditation by the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of last year. The final opinion and report from the Commission of experts who visited the University of Mostar are expected soon.

Reevaluation and accreditation by international and domestic agencies are of vital importance for the University. They not only provide external assessment of quality and standards but also help identify areas for improvement and development. This process also plays a crucial role in ensuring that educational practices and curricula are continuously updated and adapted to meet the changing needs of students and the job market.

Compliance with European standards is key for the University of Mostar. This not only helps maintain competitiveness in the international education market but also ensures that students receive education that is relevant and contemporary, and degrees that are recognized in Europe and worldwide.
