Delegation from Philipps-Universität Marburg visits the University of Mostar

A delegation from Philipps-Universität Marburg visited the University of Mostar as part of the cooperation within the EUPeace Alliance. Philipps-Universität Marburg serves as the main coordinator of the EUPeace Alliance and plays a key role in coordinating the activities of the partners and developing joint strategic initiatives.

The delegation included Evelyn Korn, Chair of the EUPeace Governing Board and representative of Philipps-Universität Marburg; Petra Kienle, Head of the International Office at Philipps-Universität Marburg; and Alexandre Wipf, Secretary-General of the EUPeace Alliance.

Representing the University of Mostar at the meeting were Vice-Rector for Science Prof. Marko Odak, Assistant to the Rector for International Cooperation Prof. Sanja Bijakšić, Assistant to the Rector for Quality Assurance and Publishing Prof. Josip Šimić, Assistant to the Rector for Business Operations and Human Resources Prof. Zdenko Klepić, and Assistant to the Rector for Teaching and Students Prof. Goran Šunjić.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the leaders of the work packages and members of the Education Board, where discussions focused on the alliance’s activities to date, the results achieved during the first two years of participation in project activities, and the planning of future initiatives, with particular emphasis on the activities organised by the University of Mostar.

During their stay, the delegation also visited the Museum of Modern Art of the University of Mostar and the SUMIT building, where they were introduced to the infrastructure and activities that contribute to the development of scientific and educational cooperation at the University of Mostar.

The EUPeace Alliance is part of the European Universities Initiative supported by the European Commission and brings together universities that, through joint educational programmes, research projects and innovative forms of cooperation, aim to contribute to the development of an open, inclusive and interconnected European Higher Education Area.

Participation of the University of Mostar in this alliance provides students and academic staff with additional opportunities for international cooperation, knowledge exchange, participation in joint research projects and the development of innovative study programmes in collaboration with European partners.
