Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) hosted the international conference and forum of the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities (SRIATU), held from May 13 to 16, 2025, in Xi’an, People's Republic of China.
Representatives from the University of Mostar also participated in this prominent international gathering: Prof. Maja Prskalo, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy, and Assistant Petra Pažin.
XAUAT is one of China’s leading universities specializing in architecture, civil engineering, and environmental engineering, known for its long-standing tradition and strong research capacity. In October 2023, XAUAT initiated the founding of the SRIATU alliance under the vision "Building a Better Home for All", aiming to strengthen international cooperation and academic exchange among universities located along the "Belt and Road" initiative.
Today, the alliance includes 55 members from 26 countries, comprising higher education institutions and industry partners, and actively contributes to the development of sustainable architecture, technological innovation, and livable human settlements worldwide.
This year’s conference in Xi’an, titled “Jointly Building the Silk Road through Collaborative Innovation: A New Chapter in Green Architecture,” brought together international experts, researchers, and decision-makers with the goal of fostering educational innovation and integrated development of science, industry, and technology in the architectural sector.
The event program included a meeting of the Alliance Council, an opening ceremony, a presidential forum, and a series of thematic sub-forums where participants exchanged knowledge and experiences on innovative approaches to sustainable construction and higher education in architecture, civil engineering, and technology.
