The University of Mostar Participated in the First Strategic Forum of the EUPeace Alliance

Representatives of the University of Mostar participated in the Spring Meetings and the first Strategic Forum of EUPeacea, held at Çukurova University in Adana, Turkey. This two-day event brought together representatives from all partner universities, governing bodies, and project teams within EUPeacea to jointly assess the progress made so far and define strategic directions for the future.

The event provided an opportunity to analyze the results achieved during the first 18 months of the EU-funded project and to deepen cooperation among partner universities through a series of thematic meetings and strategic discussions.

The representatives of the University of Mostar made a significant contribution to the work of the alliance’s key bodies, including the Governing Board, Education Committee, Senate, Student Council, Committee for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Monitoring and Control Committee, and the Quality Assurance Committee. They actively participated in discussions on the future of education, research, and social engagement within EUPeacea, with particular focus on the development of a joint digital campus, new interdisciplinary study programs, the European Track initiative, and the strengthening of research collaboration.

A special highlight of the event was the keynote lecture by German diplomat and former UN Assistant Secretary-General Hans-Christof von Sponeck, titled “The UN – Vision with Hope or Division with Hopelessness?”, which inspired reflections on global challenges and Europe's role in addressing them.

During the Strategic Forum, participants discussed key meta-challenges shaping the future of Europe – from democratic resilience, peace and security, to climate change, digitalization, social inclusion, economic fairness, health, education, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
