The Student Council of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Mostar (SAFPUM), together with other partner student associations from Croatia (CPSA) and Slovenia (ŠDDFD), successfully held the first virtual congress on (R)Evolution of Microbes.
The organization of congress was challenging for students because of the technical and organizational support, but it resulted in a huge interest. Namely, the vice president of SAFPUM, student Vedran Raguž said that 150 participants and seven lecturers attended the congress.
The congress was held with international participation, and participants could learn something new about nosocomial infections, modern antiviral medicines, the rediscovery of bacteriophage therapy, recombinant probiotic therapy, essential oils in the fight against antibiotic resistance, pharmacists' experiences in the midst of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and the challenges of the pharmaceutical industry to antibiotic resistance. Lecturers from the University of Mostar were assistants Ivan Merdžo and Martin Kondža from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
