The Sarajevo Online Post-Summer School 2025, held under the theme “Inclusion and Interculturality through Contemporary Teaching Competences”, brought together the academic community and students from across the EU Peace Alliance during its two-day programme. Within the framework of the Sarajevo Online Post-Summer School 2025, 11 workshops are being held, involving over 100 professors and students from the EU Peace Alliance.

The two-day programme enabled the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas among Alliance members, as well as the active participation of students on the topic of open education that promotes inclusiveness and adapts to contemporary challenges in an intercultural environment.

The working part of the Sarajevo Online Post-Summer School 2025 was opened by Professors Marija Čutura and Ivona Čarapina Zovko from the University of Mostar with a workshop entitled: “Beyond Labels: Exploring Identity, Breaking Barriers, and Embracing Intercultural Inclusion.”

The aim of the workshop was to provide a methodological clarification of the concepts of social identity, labelling and inclusion. In the workshop, jointly prepared by both professors, they used an interdisciplinary theoretical approach together with a quantitative approach through which they presented applied questionnaires and the quasi-experimental research design used in their study to shed light on the complex concepts of identity and inclusion.

This approach enabled participants to gain insight into theoretical explanations of the concepts of identity and inclusion, as well as their mutual theoretical and empirical connections, emphasising the importance of understanding one’s own identity as a prerequisite for promoting inclusiveness and overcoming prejudice.
