The University of Mostar has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Passau, marking a new chapter in strengthening international academic collaboration and fostering closer ties between the two higher education institutions.
The University of Passau is a public university located in Passau, Germany, in the region of Lower Bavaria. Established in 1978, its roots date back to the early 17th century when it operated as an Institute for Catholic Studies, reflecting a long and distinguished academic tradition.
According to international quality indicators, the University of Passau ranks among the top 25% of universities worldwide. At the regional level, it consistently holds prominent positions in academic rankings in Bavaria and the German-speaking area, particularly in the fields of law, business and economics, computer science, communication studies, political science, and cultural studies.
Today, the university has over 10,000 students, including 1,916 international students, demonstrating its strong international orientation and openness to the global academic community. Within the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies, the Department of Catholic Theology operates, and cooperation is particularly envisaged with the Theological-Catechetical Institute of the University of Mostar.
The agreement provides for the exchange of academic staff and students, joint participation in scientific conferences and symposia, collaboration on joint research projects, and the exchange of experiences in academic development.
With this agreement, the University of Mostar further strengthens international cooperation and enhances its global visibility, reaffirming its commitment to excellence and the internationalisation of higher education.
