On 24/25 October, leading representatives of all partners met in Marburg to further develop the common vision of this European University Alliance for "Peace, Justice, and Inclusive Societies" (in short: EUPeace) in workshops and intensive discussions, and to plan the next steps. With EUPeace, the member universities channel their missions of teaching, research, innovation and outreach towards fostering the conditions for peaceful, just and inclusive societies.
This Alliance stands for a Europe of the regions and for the European idea, which reflects the diversity of Europe and its cultures. Taking into consideration the war in Ukraine, the need to strengthen the European idea and European university dedication within the framework is highlighted more than ever.
On behalf of the University of Mostar Prof Sanja Bijakšić, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Prof Davorka Topić Stipić, PhD, member of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences actively participated in this event. Both Professors also took this opportunity to pay the returning visit in order to reinforce and improve joint collaboration between these two universities.
The European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) will decide on the funding of new "European University Alliances" in summer 2023. More information about the Alliance is available via this link https://www.eupeace.eu/en/network/about.
