Representatives of the University of Mostar participated in the EUPeace Alliance meetings held at the University of Calabria in Italy from 14 to 15 April 2026.
The delegation of the University of Mostar included Prof. Sanja Bijakšić, PhD; Prof. Davorka Topić Stipić, PhD; Assist. Prof. Marijan Tustonja, PhD; Inja Stojkić, PhD; Ana Šuman; and Martin Mikulić.
This important event brought together key members of the EUPeace Alliance bodies, including the Governing Board, Education Committee, Supervisory Board, Research Committee, and Coordination Committee.
During the meetings, participants discussed ongoing activities within the work packages, as well as the European Commission’s report following the successful submission of the mid-term progress report of the EUPeace Alliance.
Special emphasis was placed on planning future activities and events, as well as preparing the next phase of the EUPeace project beyond 2027.
The University of Mostar has taken over the presidency of the Education Committee, whose role is of particular importance, especially in the development phase of joint degree programmes. Prof. Davorka Topić Stipić, PhD, will assume this responsible position in the upcoming period.
In addition to topics related to research and education, the meetings also included strategic discussions involving leaders of partner universities, including rectors, vice-rectors, office heads, and administrative staff.
Through its membership in the EUPeace Alliance, the University of Mostar actively contributes to strengthening the integrated European Higher Education, Research and Innovation Area. In doing so, it further confirms its commitment to building a competitive and innovative university that, in cooperation with its partners, contributes to a more peaceful, fair, and inclusive future.
