The University of Mostar is participating online in the World Academic Summit organized by Times Higher Education (THE) and the University of Toronto as this year's partner, which takes place from 1 to 3 September and is an event of great importance at the world academic level.
Times Higher Education creates university rankings to assess university success on the global stage and is considered one of the most prestigious rankings. Organizers said the links between the digital and real worlds are evolving rapidly. The power of place in these dimensions faces reassessment. Consequently, the status and mission of modern universities are developing. The 2021 World Academic Summit focuses on the relationship between universities and the places where they are located.
Over the three days of the summit, the complex connection between the university and the place was examined, along with university representatives, world-class researchers, political leaders and senior executives from transnational companies from around the world. The list is available at the link. Some of the topics and frameworks of the summit are the university's contribution to the place where it is located, as well as the impact of the place on the development and work of the university. Then, one of the topics is whether the digital classroom has replaced the campus and how global networks complement local success.
