The University of Mostar signed a cooperation agreement with the National University of Medical Sciences, a public university located in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan.

The agreement on inter-university cooperation was signed at the initiative of the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency Akhtar Jamil Rao. The ambassador and his delegation were hosted by the Rector of the University of Mostar, Prof Zoran Tomić, PhD, with members of the SUM management. Cooperation will be implemented in the field of biomedical sciences through activities such as institutional exchange of teachers, technical and administrative staff and students, development of new study programmes, joint research, conferences and other activities of mutual interest.

The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) was established to promote and achieve excellence in advanced healthcare education, research and healthcare delivery.
